I've been craving chicken sandwiches since I moved out of my parents' house, and I finally found the perfect place: Popeyes! The fried chicken is always delicious, but this time they were extra
juicy and spicy--and they were even better with a side of tangy coleslaw.
I sat down at one of the tables near the window and started reading my book while I waited for my food that i choose in the online Popeyes menu. It was a really nice day outside today--the sun was shining brightly and it felt good on my skin as it filtered through the window
glass into my eyes.
After about twenty minutes or so, my sandwich came out! It looked delicious--and smelled even better! As soon as I got closer enough to smell it without getting burned by its heat (which can
happen sometimes), I knew this was going to be amazing!
I had never been to Popeyes before, so I was pretty excited to try it out.
The restaurant is located in a small plaza that looks like it has seen better days. The building itself is old and worn down, but the interior was clean and well-kept. The staff was friendly, but didn't really seem to care whether or not you were there for one of their famous fried chicken sandwiches.
I ordered my sandwich with spicy mayo on wheat, and it came out quickly with plenty of napkins for me to use as needed. The bread was soft and delicious! It wasn't too heavy or greasy
either--just right!
The spicy mayo tasted exactly like what you'd expect from a fast food place: salty and vinegary at first bite, then mellowing out into something more sweet than hot when mixed with some lettuce
leaves (which are always provided).
I'd recommend getting there early if you want a seat at the counter--it gets pretty busy around lunchtime. But if you're willing to wait, then grab one of their delicious sandwiches while you're
waiting for your number to be called by one of their friendly servers.
